Range Cookers Range cookers have been around for decades. Which means they’re in the unusual position of having some very venerable partners indeed. Very few companies reach the grand old age of two hundred and twenty one. But that’s exactly what Edwards & Godding have managed to clock up so far. And they’re still going strong.

Originally established back in 1790 as an ironmongers in Newbury, Berkshire, they were one of the UK’s first five official AGA distributors, selling their first ever range cooker to a gentleman called Captain England of Woolhampton during January 1932.

These days they have three smart showrooms in Reading, Sunninghill and Woodstock. And while some things have changed in the intervening years, others remain much the same. Edwards & Godding have embraced the internet and do a roaring trade online these days. They’ve expanded their offerings and now sell the Rayburn range collection, beautiful Agas, classic fridges and top-end refrigeration solutions, smart kitchen appliances and trendy accessories, to both retail and trade.

Because they’re a family-run company, after this long it’s in their blood. They understand the importance of traditional values. They know their products inside out. They know how to deliver top customer service, after as well as before the sale. All done in a professional but approachable way that has kept customers coming back for centuries. You don’t last that long in a changing business world, beating recessions and wars, crises and hard times, without knowing your stuff!

All of which is good news when a range cooker is usually a large and expensive purchase. Edwards and Godding is a forward-thinking company. They train their staff properly, investing valuable time, money, resources and effort in them. They keep up with the latest interior design trends. And they’re at the forefront of the new developments, willing and able to advise customers about current and emerging technologies and innovations in green, energy efficient and money-saving alternatives and innovations. In short, they’re a bit obsessive. Which is the kind of attitude, as a consumer, it’s good to have on your side.

When you want to buy from someone who knows their product inside out it’s wise to look for a company that’s been around a while and survived the worst the British economy can throw at it. A range cooker lasts a lifetime or longer, so having a supplier and partner who will be there for the lifetime of your purchase is like gold dust.
